Joe brings more than 30 years of banking and investment experience to his work, helping people make thoughtful financial decisions and plan for the future. After a successful career as a financial advisor, he served as Director of Stewardship at his parish in Greenville, South Carolina. Today, as Director of Philanthropy & Engagement at the Catholic Community Foundation, Joe helps people embrace the importance of philanthropy and experience the joy that comes from seeing their generosity make an impact for future generations.
Stewardship is more than Joe’s profession. It is his vocation. Since becoming Catholic as a young adult, he has been deeply interested in the relationship between faith and finances, particularly what Scripture teaches about money and generosity. He is the author of It’s Not Your Money and founder of itsnotyourmoney.org, where he shares reflections and stewardship resources.
A New Orleans native, Joe earned a B.S. in Finance from the University of New Orleans and pursued graduate studies in the Master of Pastoral Studies program at Loyola University New Orleans. He and his wife, Claire, have five children, three of them married, and six grandchildren. Joe is grateful to be back home, where he enjoys family, ministry, sno-balls, and seven-napkin roast beef po-boys.
