Cory J. Howat, M.A.

Cory J. Howat has worked in the nonprofit sector for many years, gaining experience in both programming and development. Cory was the executive director of Boys Hope Girls Hope for more than nine years, and he has extensive fundraising experience, having served as a major gifts officer and as a director of institutional advancement.

Before being chosen to lead the CCF in 2017, Cory was the director of stewardship of the Archdiocese of New Orleans for five years. Cory is also the president of #iGiveCatholic, the U.S. Catholic Church's giving day, reaching donors in all 50 states. He also serves as president of Aspiring Scholars Louisiana, the statewide tuition donation tax credit program that expands access to Catholic education for families across the state. A deep love of his native city and its Catholic heritage has also led Cory to build relationships with organizations like UNESCO in support of preserving New Orleans' historic landmarks. He holds a bachelor's degree in marketing from Mississippi State University and a master's degree in philanthropy and development from St. Mary's University in Minnesota.

In all things, Cory's passion for his family and faith remains his driving force. Cory is a native of New Orleans, LA, where he resides with his wife and five children. They attend St. Angela Merici parish.
